Ron Jacobson is Co-Chair of the firm’s Finance, Corporate Lending, and Debt Capital Markets departments.

Mr. Jacobson has extensive experience advising clients in all aspects of the debt markets, including large-cap, mid-cap, asset-based, and cash flow financings throughout the capital structure and across numerous industries. The breadth of his experience extends well into the primary and secondary par and distressed debt trading markets. In addition, Mr. Jacobson addresses a wide range of matters on behalf of onshore and offshore capital markets-driven vehicles and investment funds.

Mr. Jacobson’s representative clients include many of the leading global commercial and investment banking institutions, non-bank financial institutions, institutional debt investors, senior debt fund managers, capital markets issuers, corporate borrowers, and equity sponsors across a broad spectrum of industries.

Activities

Mr. Jacobson serves as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, oversees the firm’s Associates Committee, and is a former member of the firm’s Income Partner Compensation Committee, Associate Evaluation Committee, and Billings and Collections Committee.

Mr. Jacobson is a member of the Commercial Finance Association Founders’ Leadership Council, Loan Syndications and Trading Association, Association for Corporate Growth, Turnaround Management Association, and American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. He also serves as a member of the President's Board of the UCAN social services agency.


Education

Mr. Jacobson received his B.A., with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1985 and his J.D., with honors, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1988, where he was managing editor of the Loyola Law Journal. In 1990, he received his M.B.A., with honors, from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where he concentrated in accounting and finance.


Speeches and Publications

Mr. Jacobson regularly presents and participates in panel discussions at various industry, client, and firm-sponsored events covering a wide range of topics germane to the debt and capital markets. He has most recently addressed such topics at conferences with Thomson Reuters Gold Sheets Corporate Finance, the Loan Syndications and Trading Association, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Northwestern Law Executive and Professional Education’s Corporate Counsel Institute.

Mr. Jacobson is often published and quoted in industry periodicals, such as American Banker, Corporate Counselor, Daily Deal, Journal of Structured Finance, and Thomson Reuters.
