Joshua Yang is an associate in the firm’s corporate department.
Mr. Yang concentrates his practice on three areas:
- Counseling investment managers in structuring and forming private investment funds, including hedge funds, commodity pools, commingled funds, group trusts and collective investment trusts.
- Advising investment managers with respect to U.S. regulatory compliance matters, including compliance with SEC and CFTC regulations.
- Representing major banks, hedge funds and end users in structuring and documenting derivatives products, including interest rate, foreign exchange, commodity, equity and credit swaps and other derivatives.
Education
Mr. Yang received a Bachelor of Law in 1990 and a Master of Economics in 1995 from Wuhan University in China. He received an M.B.A. in 1999 from Southern Methodist University. He received a J.D., summa cum laude, in 2005 from William Mitchell College of Law, where he was an executive editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. Mr. Yang also is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Speeches and Publications
Mr. Yang has published multiple articles on investment with various newspapers and journals, including the Securities Times, one of three securities newspapers designated by the China Securities Regulatory Commission to disclose public company information.
