Winston & Strawn financial services and employee benefits partner Marla Kreindler, based in the firm's Chicago office, participated as a panel participant and served as co-chair of The 12th Annual West Coast Pensions and Investments Defined Contribution Conference to be held November 1-3, 2009 in San Francisco.
Ms. Kreindler's panel was titled "How D.C. Plan Executives are Rethinking their Plans' Investments as a Result of the Financial Crisis," and addressed the following topics:
- Altering asset allocations
- Adding options such as TIPS, REITS, annuities, emerging markets, commodities, global fixed income
- Scrutinizing target-date funds to make sure their equity exposure is appropriate
- Aligning target allocations with objectives and risk tolerance
Joining her on this panel were Judy Mares, Chief Investment Officer, for Alliant Techsystems; and John Sturiale, Managing Director, Investment Services and Portfolio Manager, at Charles Schwab. The panel was moderated by Troy K. Saharic, Principal, from Mercer.
