Cardelle Spangler and Eleni Kouimelis Recognized on Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2022 Notable Women in Law List

Crain’s Chicago Business honored two Winston & Strawn attorneys on their 2022 Notable Women in Law List—Chicago Office Managing Partner Cardelle Spangler and Environmental Practice Chair Eleni Kouimelis. This annual accolade profiles the top Chicago-area women in law, highlighting their exceptional accomplishments over the previous 18 months.

In addition to being managing partner of Winston’s Chicago office, Cardelle serves on the firm’s Executive Committee where she uses her considerable skills and experience to guide Winston’s global strategy and help drive our continued success; chairs the Respect in the Workplace Issues Committee (RWIC) which provides resources for firm employees navigating sensitive interpersonal situations—the RWIC is committed to maintaining an environment of mutual respect where everyone acts professionally, treats others with civility, and avoids inappropriate conduct; and serves on both the Associate Evaluation and Diversity Committees, two organizations that are crucial to establishing equity within the Winston community.

In addition to her leadership as chair of the Environmental Law Practice, Eleni works to inspire and advance women at Winston by serving as an official (and unofficial) mentor to the firm’s women attorneys. Eleni takes it upon herself to not only act as a guide and soundboard for mentees, but also encourage and facilitate women attorneys to pursue their individual goals—whether that means advancing within Winston or moving in-house to one of Winston’s clients.
