Charlie Papavizas Speaks at Jones Act Shipping Forum 2015
September 16, 2015
Maritime & Admiralty Practice Chair Charlie Papavizas spoke at TradeWinds’ Jones Act Shipping Forum 2015 in New York City on September 16, 2015. The forum featured leading Jones Act figures tackling the most pressing issues surrounding the strength of the law and the domestic shipping markets it protects.
Along with ship owners, markets analysts, and shipbuilders, Mr. Papavizas presented “Tanker Insights,” which explained market developments in the wake of the oil price’s precipitous decline. They discussed how tanker and ATB markets will be affected and how they will respond to demand uncertainty ahead of looming vessel supply growth. They also took a look at the impact of potential U.S. crude exports and a new frontier in energy-related Jones Act ships.
Other topics presented at the Forum include:
- Regulation and policy
- Innovation and opportunities
- The money minds
Mr. Papavizas is frequently consulted on the application of U.S. coastwise laws (Jones Act) to cargo, passenger, and vessel movements and investments in U.S. companies. Learn more about Winston’s Jones Act Practice here.
