Charlie Papavizas, a partner in Winston & Strawn's Washington, D.C. office and co-chair of the firm's maritime and admiralty practice, spoke at the TradeWinds Jones Act Shipping Forum, held on September 18, 2013 in New York.
Mr. Papavizas presented "Inside the Jones Act." This session charted the evolution of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, unravelled individual statues and explored initiatives that are shaping the political landscape in Washington. Mr. Papavizas was joined by Tom Allegretti, chairman of the American Maritime Partnership, and Mark Lowe, a partner with Hill, Betts & Nash.
