Winston & Strawn Co-Executive Chairman and Sports Law Practice Co-Chair Jeffrey Kessler earned a spot on Law360’s 2018 list of Sports MVPs. The 2018 class of MVPs, which includes 162 attorneys from 71 firms spanning 35 practice areas, have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters, and record-breaking deals.
Jeffrey, one of only five attorneys named as an MVP in the Sports Law category, is recognized for representing several notable clients over the past year including, college football and basketball players in Alston v. NCAA and Jenkins v NCAA, the North American Soccer League (NASL), the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), and the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT). Jeffrey was also named an MVP by Law360 in 2015.
Jeffrey is one of the world’s leading antitrust, sports law, and trial lawyers. He has been lead counsel in some of the most complex antitrust, sports law, and intellectual property law cases in the country, including major jury trials, and has represented a number of U.S. and international companies in criminal and civil investigations in the antitrust, sports law, trade, and FCPA areas.
