Kobi Kennedy Brinson Wins Charlotte Business Journal 2018 Women in Business Achievement Award
February 12, 2018
Kobi Kennedy Brinson has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal with a 2018 Women in Business Award. A litigation partner whose practice focuses on defending financial services and other clients in government regulatory enforcement inquiries and investigations, as well as class action litigation, Kobi is one of 25 outstanding business women from the Charlotte area being honored for their significant contributions to their professions and communities during the past year. Winston is a sponsor of the awards ceremony, which will take place on February 12, 2018.
Since her arrival at Winston in 2014, Kobi has distinguished herself as a leader at the firm. Chair of Winston’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Charlotte office partner chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative affinity group, Charlotte office representative of the firm’s Finance Committee, outgoing co-chair of the Hiring Committee (also for the Charlotte office), and attorney recruiting head for the University of North Carolina School of Law, Kobi is a key influencer and policy-driver in several critical areas.
Having worked as an in-house lawyer at Wells Fargo and Bank of America for over a decade, Kobi applies her deep experience in financial services to generate successful outcomes for her clients in regulatory enforcement investigations and class actions. She has a unique command of investigations requiring a deep-dive into banking and mortgage operations.
Kobi also makes community involvement a priority. In 2017, she was chosen to serve as a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was named chair of the Risk Committee of Women Executives, a diverse organization of women leaders in the business, professional, educational, and non-profit Charlotte community. She serves as Governance Chair of the Arts Empowerment Project Board of Directors and is a member of the Charlotte Ballet Advisory Board.
