August 23, 2019
Winston welcomed 78 first- and second-year law students from schools across the country who participated in our 2019 Summer Associate Program. Visit #WinstonSummer2019 on Instagram for work, training, service, and social highlights from the summer.
We are pleased to report that at the conclusion of the program, the firm extended offers to all 2L summer associates to join the firm after graduation. In addition, the first-year law students who joined our 2019 Summer Program through 1L Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholars and Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program (DAPP) Direct have received offers to spend their 2L summer with Winston next year.
The continued success of our summer program is made possible through the dedication of our Hiring Committee, the Summer Committees in our various offices, the lawyers who acted as mentors and trainers, our Attorney Recruiting & Development Department, and the staff who assisted our summer associates.
Previous participants in our summer program once again gave Winston high marks in the 2020 Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms, commenting that:
“Everyone was very open and honest about what it would be like to work at the firm as an associate. The firm made every effort to give summer associates substantive experience in the practice areas we expressed interested in.”
“Work assignments were substantive, interesting, and often tailored to associates’ interests and desired practice areas.”
“I feel the firm is making a sincere effort and allocating significant resources with respect to diversity and inclusion across the board.”
“The opportunities for pro bono work at Winston are incredible.”
“Winston’s summer program allowed me to make meaningful connections with associates and partners. When I returned as a first-year, I was able to build on those connections and gain access to interesting work.”
Hiring for our 2020 summer program is now in full swing.
