Leonardo DRS' Acquisition of Ascendant Engineering Solutions

Winston & Strawn LLP represented Leonardo DRS, a provider of defense products and technologies that are used across land, air, sea, space, and cyber domains, in its acquisition of Ascendant Engineering Solutions (AES), a leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of high-performance, stabilized, multi-sensor gimbal systems for the growing market of Group 1, 2, and 3 unmanned aerial systems (UAS) across the U.S. military services. This acquisition will enable Leonardo DRS to integrate its own state-of-the-art Electro-Optical and Infrared components and systems with the AES advanced gimbals to offer integrated solutions that can address the fast-growing market for lightweight military platforms, including small unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
