Rare Noninfringement Jury Verdict for Teva N.A. in Patent Infringement Case for Suboxone® Tablets

Successfully defended Teva Pharmaceuticals and subsidiary Actavis Elizabeth in a patent infringement suit brought by Orexo, relating to two opioid addiction treatment drugs. Orexo alleged that Actavis Elizabeth’s generic products infringed its patent for Zubsolv®. Following a five-day trial, a Delaware jury found that Actavis did not infringe, clearing Teva of the US$41M sought in damages. D. Del. Judge Colm Connolly later denied Orexo’s request for a new trial.
