Secured Landmark Victory for BPI Against ABC News in Massive Defamation Case

Secured an extremely favorable mid-trial settlement in the “largest defamation case in U.S. history” for Beef Products Int’l (BPI) in its quest for US$5.7B in damages for losses suffered after ABC News defendants repeatedly referred to one of their products as “pink slime.”

The massive lawsuit focused on a series of broadcasts by ABC about BPI’s lean, finely textured beef product and culminated in trial. We spent weeks putting witnesses on the stand to prove ABC’s liability to the jury. With witnesses about to take the stand who would establish BPI’s damages, the case settled very favorably for BPI.
