Alexandra Chopin Speaks on American Society of International Law Panel

Winston & Strawn partner Alexandra Chopin will speak on the “U.S. Courts International Law Year in Review” panel hosted by the American Society of International Law. The discussion will cover sovereign immunity and personal jurisdiction disputes in the U.S. under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act and the Anti-Terrorism Act; conflicting interpretations of U.S. and non-U.S. law in the context of bilateral investment treaties, commercial disputes, and human rights claims; and, recent decisions from the federal appellate courts that decline to defer to the Executive Branch interpretation of treaties and U.S. law with extraterritorial reach.
