Annie Maudouit-Ridde Speaks at the French National Assembly’s Fifth Annual Economic and Professional Equality Forum

Winston & Strawn Paris partner Annie Maudouit-Ridde had the honor of speaking at the French National Assembly’s fifth Economic and Professional Equality Forum (Rencontres de l’Égalité Économique et Professionnelle), upon the invitation of Marie-Pierre Rixain, member of Parliament for Essonne.

The panel—“Women and Finance: What are the Challenges and Opportunities?”—featured Maya Atig, CEO of the French Banking Federation; Adrien Chaltiel, board advisor at France FinTech; and Almuneda Cañibano, co-scientific director of the ESCP Business School’s Women in Finance Chair.

After the opening address by Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, chair of the French Financial Markets Authority, Annie addressed key issues such as:

• The central role of power dynamics within finance and the legal profession
• The codes of finance, historically dominated by men
• The challenges of advancing in a predominantly male environment
• The paradox between the majority of women in corporate law and their underrepresentation in partner positions

This event was a reminder that achieving economic and professional equality between men and women is a daily effort and a shared responsibility, both individually and collectively.
