Bill Lang Receives Lawyers Alliance for New York’s 2017 Cornerstone Award for Pro Bono Service
November 9, 2017
Real Estate Partner Bill Lang has been recognized with the Lawyers Alliance for New York’s 2017 Cornerstone Award, which honors outstanding pro bono legal services to nonprofits. The awards, now in their twentieth year, will be presented November 14.
A volunteer with Lawyers Alliance since 2003, Bill most recently represented The Charter High School for Law and Social Justice in negotiating a 20-year lease for its new premises. The school, the product of a unique partnership between the College of Mount Saint Vincent and New York Law School, uses a law and social justice theme to expose students from traditionally underserved communities to the power of law to promote social change.
Bill also assisted Chinese Community Concerns Corporation with a license agreement with New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services for the Chinatown Head Start program that serves nearly 100 children each year.
Lawyers Alliance for New York provides business and transactional legal services for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that are improving the quality of life in New York City neighborhoods.
Bill distinguishes his practice in all facets of commercial real estate finance and represents clients in the acquisition, sale, and leasing of multi-family and retail properties from both the landlord and tenant perspective as well as the borrower side.
