Brad Mandel Discusses AI in Private Fund LP Secondaries with Secondaries Investor

Winston & Strawn partner Brad Mandel spoke with Secondaries Investor where he discussed the potential use of generative artificial intelligence and other technology in the private fund secondaries industry, specifically in the process of closing LP secondaries transactions. Brad stated that junior staff members are prevented from progressing as quickly as they could as they’re often tied down with menial tasks. 

“A lot of this work has become so voluminous that it ties down our junior associates,” he says. Brad added that junior staff aren’t left with a lot of bandwidth to get involved with purchase agreements and other key legal documents so they can understand and learn about deal processes from inception to close. 

“That’s definitely been a challenge for us. We certainly welcome technological developments that will ease that burden on them.”
