Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Oversight of Offshore Wind Projects
March 21, 2019
As demonstrated in the recent record-breaking lease sale in Massachusetts, the development of offshore wind projects in the U.S is increasingly active, and a number of large-scale projects are underway. U.S. government policies and regulations continue to play a key role in offshore wind farm development. Winston & Strawn, along with Business Network for Offshore Wind and Marine Log, will lead a series of interactive discussions with U.S. government officials and industry authorities on regulatory issues affecting the construction and financing of offshore wind projects in the U.S.
The third topic, “Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Oversight of Offshore Wind Projects,” took place on March 21, 2019. Winston partners was joined by Joanna Brinkman, U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Branch of Offshore Resources, Sid Falk, U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy Programs, and Joshua M. Kaplowitz, U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Branch of Offshore Resources.
