Partner Charlie Papavizas has been actively engaged in the U.S. offshore energy sector since 1986 and recently authored the book Journey to the Jones Act—U.S. Merchant Marine Policy 1776-1920 (available on Amazon) to “fill a gap in the public discourse about the act, show how rich merchant marine policy is in the U.S., and provide insight into how intertwined it is with the nation’s history.”
At the International Partnering Forum (IPF)—the premier offshore wind energy conference in the Americas—in April, industry leaders lined up for signed copies of Charlie’s book. Charlie also moderated the panel, “Finally Feedering! Insights From the First Commercial-Scale Feeder Barge Operations.”
Charlie has discussed his book in various media outlets as well, including MarineLink, Riviera Maritime Media, and TradeWinds.
Up next, Charlie will present, “The Jones Act and What it Means for OSV Owners,” at the Offshore Support Journal Conference, Americas in June, 2024.
