Dan Blouin, New Partner in Chicago Office, Discusses Why He Chose to Join Winston & Strawn with Bloomberg Law
March 26, 2020
Winston & Strawn’s latest addition, Dan Blouin, partner in the firm’s Chicago office, recently spoke with Bloomberg Law to discuss why he was motivated to move to Winston after nearly three decades at another firm.
Dan explained that Winston’s reputation as a “litigation powerhouse” was appealing to him. He also noted that the firm’s many offices nationwide were another factor, as he’s looking forward to the ability to staff his cases “coast to coast.” While Dan will continue to represent many of his existing clients, he’s looking forward to working with Winston’s team on additional complex commercial litigation cases.
Winston’s Chicago Managing Partner Linda Coberly described Dan as, “a highly skilled litigator with deep experience in exactly the kind of litigation that has always been our bread and butter—complex, high-stakes cases that require creativity and business sense.”
The article also discusses how Dan has had to adapt to the sudden challenges that COVID-19 has created for lawyers joining a new firm at this time. He explained the transition has gone well, telling Bloomberg Law, “Within hours, I had computers and monitors and VOIP phones and headsets and everything I needed to be up and running.”
