GAR 100 Recognizes Winston & Strawn as a Leading Arbitration Practice
July 16, 2021
Winston & Strawn’s International Arbitration Practice is recognized in the 14th edition of Global Arbitration Review’s GAR 100 publication as one of the world’s leading arbitration practices. Winston has been consistently ranked in the GAR 100 since 2008, the result of decades of experience representing clients in investor-state and international commercial arbitrations around the world.
Among Winston’s many successful arbitration cases in the new edition, the publication highlighted cases such as an ICSID award for U.S. mining client Dominion Minerals against Panama, and a favorable settlement for a U.S. private equity firm on the eve of hearings in an arbitration against its Chinese and Singaporean partners in a joint venture in China.
Winston’s assistance to sovereign state was also underlined with wins for Jordan in an ICC case over the construction of a railway system, and ongoing defense on behalf of Ukraine against a UNCITRAL treaty claim brought by the semiautonomous Russian republic of Tatarstan over the seizure of an oil refinery.
