After the initial decisions to remove veterinary groups, human health—particularly medical imaging—is now in the sights of lawmakers, who might restrict the financialization of the sector.
“The consolidation of the healthcare sector in France began exactly 30 years ago, particularly in medical biology,” Gilles recalled. “Medical biology is now significantly concentrated without clear evidence of it harming healthcare provision and its quality (…). This consolidation has allowed investment in high-performing technical facilities with cutting-edge equipment, preventing us from being surpassed by other countries.”
