House Passes Legislation to Revive Equal Rights Amendment

Winston & Strawn’s Linda Coberly is featured in The Wall Street Journal today, providing commentary on the House of Representatives’ vote to extend the deadline for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Coberly, Chair of the ERA Coalition’s Legal Task Force, stated that Congress allowed for the deadline to be changed or removed by placing this language in the amendment’s preamble rather than the amendment itself.
