Jeffrey Kessler Named One of NFL’s 100 Most Important People

Winston & Strawn Co-chairman Jeffrey Kessler was named in USA Today’s “NFL’s 100 Most Important People” published on June 28, 2016. Mr. Kessler, who co-chairs Winston’s Sports Law Practice, ranks 38th on the list.
“A prominent sports lawyer with many high-profile clients in the NFL. Kessler has been referred to as the NFL’s ‘arch-enemy’ and often works on behalf of the players union, including CBA negotiations and Deflategate,” the article states.
Mr. Kessler is one of the most prominent lawyers in the country regularly engaged in high-profile sports litigation. He has litigated some of the most famous sports-antitrust cases in history, including McNeil v. the NFL, the landmark antitrust jury trial which led to the establishment of free agency in the National Football League (NFL), and Brady v. NFL, which led to the end of the 2011 NFL lockout.
