Jervonne Newsome Receives the Dallas Bar Association’s Karen D. McCloud Outstanding Minority Attorney Award

Winston & Strawn partner Jervonne Newsome was selected as the 2024 recipient of the Dallas Bar Association’s Karen D. McCloud Outstanding Minority Attorney Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to a DBA member who has demonstrated outstanding participation and support of the DBA’s mission.

Highlights from Jervonne’s extensive work with the DBA include her service on the DBA Equality Committee where she led a group of outside and in-house counsel to advance law firms’ DEI strategies; her invaluable work as the sub-committee chairperson for the DBA’s launch of the Allied Bars Equality Committee’s Toolkit to promote attorneys’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in Dallas; and her participation in the DBA’s WE LEAD initiative which empowers and educates high-performing women attorneys and address the unique challenges they face in the legal profession.

Jervonne received the award during an awards ceremony on November 15, 2024, at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas.
