Joan Fife Named a 2018 Top Labor & Employment Lawyer by Daily Journal

San Francisco Office Managing Partner Joan Fife has been recognized as a 2018 Top Labor & Employment Lawyer by Daily Journal, a newspaper focused on law and business in California. 

Joan has more than 30 years’ experience litigating employment matters and has served as first chair in more than 50 class or collective actions nationwide. From wage and hour and worker classification matters to suitable seating and rest break lawsuits, including her current role as lead attorney defending one of the nation’s largest financial institutions in numerous FLSA collective actions and California state class actions, her distinctive work in the class action arena establishes her as one of the premier labor and employment attorneys in California.

Joan has been recognized by leading legal and business publications throughout her career, including Chambers USA, San Francisco Business Times, The Recorder, and Daily Journal.

Serving the community and sharing her rich knowledge of labor and employment law is a priority for Joan. She is regularly invited to speak on wage and hour issues. In the past year, she has spoken at the ABA Annual Meeting for the Labor and Employment Section, the Silicon Valley “All Hands Meeting,” the Pacific Coast Labor and Employment Law Conference, and the National Employment Law Institute Wage and Hour Meeting. She also holds an annual eLunch on wage and hour issues for clients and colleagues. Her pro bono activities include representing small business owners in employment matters.
