On November 15, Winston & Strawn’s eDiscovery & Information Governance Practice Chair John Rosenthal and Director of E-Discovery Support Services Scott Cohen participated in Georgetown University Law School’s annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute.
John moderated a group of distinguished federal judges in a session titled “Case Law Update,” which addressed key eDiscovery cases from 2018.
Scott spoke on the “Best Practices in Enterprise Software Solutions” panel. Topics discussed included:
- How outside counsel can help clients with eDiscovery enterprise software solutions like Microsoft Office 365 and Google Vault
- Best practices for searching in enterprise software solutions to be able to reduce volume defensibly
- How to differentiate between licensing options and whether companies are using enterprise software solutions for advanced eDiscovery capabilities and under what circumstances
- How to evaluate outside counsel’s role in confirming that litigation hold functionality has been enabled properly
With nearly 30 years of trial experience, John litigates complex commercial, antitrust, and false advertising cases. John also has expansive experience in all areas of electronic discovery, privacy, information governance, and data breach.
Scott is responsible for all aspects of the Winston’s litigation support technology, electronic discovery operations, and document review center management.
