Winston & Strawn Litigation Partner Julissa Reynoso is recognized as a 2019 New York Trailblazer by the New York Law Journal. This inaugural list profiles attorneys who are innovative thought leaders and who have made significant marks on the practice, policy, and technological advancements of their sectors.

The publication highlights Julissa’s career and her extensive experience in international law and diplomacy. Her clients include San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the largest public bankruptcy in modern U.S. history, and GolTV, the only Spanish-language soccer channel in the United States, in commercial disputes related to scandals at FIFA, soccer’s international governing body. As well as her work advising multinational firms on how to navigate U.S. sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela.

As for the future, Julissa expects that Latin America will become an even more complex region for practice especially as the United States imposes tougher sanctions on Venezuela, and perhaps, Cuba. In addition, white-collar cases are on the rise because of cross-border corruption. “Given the relationship between the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean, business transactions are increasing. Clients are looking for lawyers with cultural and language understanding in litigation and arbitration.”
