Partners Dan Passage and Pete Morgan spoke at ABS Vegas 2016 held Feb. 28 – March 2. Sponsored by Winston & Strawn, ABS Vegas 2016 is the largest capital markets conference in the world.
Mr. Passage participated in the “Marketplace Lending 101” panel on February 28. The panel addressed key marketplace lending terminology, provided an introduction to various platforms, their strategies, and business models, and explained how marketplace lending relates to the institutional investor.
Mr. Morgan spoke on the March 1 panel “Railcar, Shipping & Container ABS: Transportation Finance.” The discussion focused on the following questions:
- What are the major risks inherent to this sector?
- Can a slowdown in China mean trouble for shipping ABS?
- How does this asset class differ from the traditional ABS structure?
