Rodrigo Carvalho Discusses Debt Refinancing in Foreign Currency with Infomoney

Winston & Strawn São Paulo office Managing Partner Rodrigo Carvalho spoke with InfoMoney, where he discussed the increase in foreign investors resuming investments in Brazilian companies. The raising of funds abroad has gained traction again in recent weeks. Rodrigo noted that as foreign investors are regaining comfort in investing in Brazilian companies, there has been a growing demand from companies for financing abroad. 

He stated that the recent movement suggests a wave in “dollarization” of company debts, explaining that the American credit market, for example, can offer longer terms and larger checks for companies, especially those with revenues in dollars.
