Suzanne Jaffe Bloom Discusses Record Number of False Claims Act Matters with Bloomberg Law

Winston & Strawn partner Suzanne Jaffe Bloom was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article discussing the record number of False Claims Act settlements and judgements in 2023. The DOJ recently announced that in 2023 the US government and whistleblowers were party to 543 FCA settlements and judgments and that DOJ’s Fraud Section issued 1504 Civil Investigative Demands, the highest number in a single year.

These record numbers are “unsurprising given the tremendous resources the government has allocated to ferreting out pandemic-related fraud and health-care fraud,” Suzanne said.
