Winston Advises on Global Banking & Markets: Latin America’s 2024 M&A Deal of the Year

Winston & Strawn was recognized as an advisor to Grupo Calleja, a leading supermarket chain in El Salvador, on its approximate US$1.2 billion acquisition of Almacenes Éxito S.A., a Colombian retail company with presence in Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay, with over 2,600 stores across the region. This transaction was named the “2024 M&A Deal of the Year” by Global Banking & Markets: Latin America.

Nicholas E. Rodriguez (Miami) led the transaction, and he was assisted by partners Sey-Hyo Lee (New York) and Justin Hoffman (Houston) and associates Matthew Regens (Houston), and Javier Daza (Miami). Grupo Calleja’s advisors for the acquisition also included Banca de Inversión Bancolombia, Valores Bancolombia, Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, and Consortium Legal (El Salvador).
