Winston & Strawn Announces Newly Elected U.S. Partners Spanning Six Practice Groups

Winston & Strawn is pleased to announce that Don Goff, Robine Morrison Grant, Rick McCarty, Lilli Scalettar, Alessandra Swanson and Jeff Wilkerson have been elected to partner. The new partners represent six practice areas and four Winston offices in the U.S.:
- Don Goff (Chicago) concentrates his practice on tax aspects of merger and acquisition transactions and has represented public and private buyers, financial institutions and private equity companies. He was named to The Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) 2019 list of “Top Lawyers Under 40.”
- Robine Morrison Grant (Houston) defends and litigates complex cases in federal and state courts and arbitration on a broad range of commercial matters, including high stakes contract disputes, defamation, tortious interference, product liability, Title VI, Lanham Act, unfair competition, trade secret, qui tam, noncompete, antitrust, and securities fraud claims. She has been a member of six trial teams, conducted nine direct and cross-examinations at trial, successfully written and argued pretrial and critical motions, and conducted over fifty depositions.
- Lilli Scalettar (New York) represents investors and investment funds, including private equity sponsors, venture capital funds and their respective portfolio companies, in connection with platform and add-on acquisitions, related acquisition financing, dispositions and other exit strategies, restructurings, joint ventures, growth equity investments and general corporate matters. Before attending law school, Lilli was a New York City Teaching Fellow. Through this program she spent two years as a 6th-, 7th-, and 9th-grade mathematics teacher at a high-needs public school in East Harlem and received a master’s degree in education.
- Alessandra Swanson (Chicago) is a former federal regulator who focuses her practice on privacy, marketing, advertising and intellectual property counseling. She is a member of the firm’s Global Privacy and Data Security Task Force, Co-Chair of the firm's Regulated Personal Information service offering, and has extensive experience in counseling clients with respect to the collection, use, protection and cross-border transfer of personal information. Prior to joining Winston, Alessandra spent five years with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services–Office for Civil Rights (HHS-OCR) where she was involved with a number of high-profile investigations and settlements.
- Jeff Wilkerson (Charlotte) is an experienced litigator and appellate advocate whose practice focuses on complex commercial and class action litigation at the trial level, appeals and critical motions. He has argued or prepared briefings to state and federal trial and appellate courts, and to the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to joining Winston, Jeff served as law clerk to Judge Sandra Ikuta, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California.
