Winston & Strawn Hosts Spill the Tea: Second Annual Queen Charlotte Tea Event
February 27, 2023
Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz reigned as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland but was often overshadowed by her “mad” husband, King George III. But this insightful and powerful monarch (the first British queen of African descent) proved to be an innovator who had a fascinating influence on social life, the arts, and politics during her 57 years on the throne.
In celebration of Black History and Women’s History Months, Winston & Strawn’s Charlotte office was pleased to host an afternoon tea and discussion with extraordinary Black women innovators who “spilled the tea” on their entrepreneurial and innovative endeavors. We sipped tea together as this dynamic panel discussed how they are making their marks in the Charlotte community and in the health and wellness, culinary arts, and financial services industries.
