Winston’s Private Equity Co-Chair Brad Vaiana spoke on a panel discussion presented to over 250 representatives from independent sponsors and capital providers spanning multiple countries entitled “Raising a Fund 101 - Transitioning from Independent Sponsor to Emerging Manager” at the iGlobal Forum 16thIndependent Sponsors Summit in Miami last week.
Five different sponsors, capital providers, and professional services firms (Citrin Cooperman; Acharya Capital Partners, LLC; Grafine Partners; Moelis Asset Management; and Jacmel Growth Partners) joined Brad on the panel and shared their collective insights on first-time funds, including a cost-benefit analysis of both funded and independent paths, relationships with investors and outside service providers, and the legal considerations associated with these pivotal decisions.
