Winston & Strawn was a proud sponsor of the North American Blockchain Summit hosted by the Texas Blockchain Council in Fort Worth, Texas, November 16–17, 2023. The summit brought together leaders from the blockchain and digital assets ecosystems, including energy and oil and gas companies.
Collin Z Groebe interviewed Congressman Pete Sessions, representing Texas’ 17thDistrict, in a fireside chat. The 17thDistrict is home to Riot Platforms’ and Bitdeer’s industrial-scale bitcoin mining operations. During the chat, Congressman Sessions spoke about bitcoin mining, Argentinean peso inflation, U.S. energy independence, the 2008 financial crisis, the collapse of FTX, and the Sam Bankman-Fried trial.
In celebration of the culmination of the North American Blockchain Summit, Winston’s Digital Assets & Blockchain Technology Group hosted a VIP reception at Goldee’s BBQ, rated #1 in Texas by Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn.
