Winston & Strawn Partners Named to Lawdragon’s “The Influencers: The 500 Leading Lawyers in America”

Winston & Strawn partners were recognized by Lawdragon in their annual list, "The Influencers: The 500 Leading Lawyers in America." This is the publication's sixth annual guide to the "best legal talent in the world."

In describing litigation partner Michael Elkin, who serves as managing partner of Winston & Strawn's New York office, the publication stated: "This tough litigator has proven to be one of the most elite new media advocates around with victories for Veoh over the reach of the DMCA safe harbor and will almost certainly be one of the leading voices in determining how far Internet companies must go to police user-generated content."

Steve Gavin, chairman of the firm's corporate department, was recognized for his client roster and recent work with Groupon on its $750 million IPO.

Litigation partner Jeffrey Kessler was described as "one of the top sports lawyers in the world for players and players' unions and an all around outstanding litigator."

"The iconic former prosecutor and firm chairman," Dan Webb, who has been recognized in the top 500 since the inception of the award, was also recognized by the publication, most notably for his representation pertaining to false advertising claims.
