Winston & Strawn Recognized in 2013 National Law Journal Intellectual Property Hot List
May 6, 2013
Winston & Strawn's intellectual property practice was featured for the second year in a row by The National Law Journal "Intellectual Property Hot List," an editorial feature that identifies 20 top law firms with practices that focus significantly on patent, copyright or trademark legal services.
The feature highlights some of the Winston & Strawn intellectual property practice's recent victories across a broad spectrum of specialties, including George Lombardi's $1 billion verdict for Monsanto Co., David Enzminger's defense of Belkin International Inc., and Michael Elkin's win for Aereo Inc.
"I think it's pretty unusual to have that kind of depth across offices," said George Lombardi, a partner based in Chicago and chairman of the firm's intellectual property practice. "We're known as IP lawyers who can try the cases and know how to talk to the jurors and judges about the cases and get the results the clients need."
More than 200 Winston attorneys practice in multiple areas of IP-related law in the United States, Europe, and Asia; nearly 80 of these attorneys have technical degrees and 45 are members of the Patent Bar.
