Winston Supports SOBAL Conference 2023

Winston & Strawn are corporate members of the SOBAL (Society of British Argentine Lawyers) Conference 2023, held in partnership with the BACC (British Argentine Chamber of Commerce) and kindly hosted by the Argentine Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Javier Figueroa. Held at his residence in the Embassy of Argentina in London, the event on November 30, 2023, brought together public and private stakeholders in the legal, political, and diplomatic sectors from both Argentina and the UK, to discuss the latest developments in relevant industries as climate change and energy transition, artificial intelligence, energy disputes, and foreign exchange regulations. The event was especially timely on the eve of a government change in Argentina that promises to liberalize the Argentinian economy vis-à-vis foreign investments.

London International Arbitration and Disputes associate Agustin R. Spotorno participated in the international disputes panel and spoke about the recent trends and developments in the dispute resolution mechanisms used for cross-border energy disputes in Argentina and Latin America, the latest trends on cross-border issues and international arbitration in the energy sector, and tips for avoiding and mitigating disputes in times of energy transition.
