Winston Team Receives Shout Out in Litigator of the Week Column

A Winston & Strawn team led by partners Kelly Hunsaker and Mike Rueckheim were featured in the Litigator of the Week column by The Am Law Litigation Daily on September 6, 2024.

The recognition stems from the team’s work helping Microsoft fend off patent claims from Exafer accusing certain components of Microsoft’s Azure network of infringing two network management patents. In a decision made public last week, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman in Austin, Texas, who had earlier excluded Exafer’s damages expert, granted Microsoft summary judgment “based on the lack of evidence in the record that a jury could use to arrive at a non-speculative reasonable royalty based on Microsoft’s alleged cost savings.”
