International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL)
The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) is an international treaty established to protect the marine environment by reducing the amount of pollution from ships. It is divided into six annexes addressing different forms of pollution including oil pollution, noxious liquid substances, harmful substances in packaged form, sewage pollution, garbage pollution, and air pollution.
