Co-Chair of Winston & Strawn's CLOs/Fund Finance Practice, Nolan is a finance lawyer with a wide range of experience in corporate finance matters, including fund finance, structured finance, and corporate lending transactions.
Nolan is a corporate finance lawyer, focusing his practice primarily on fund finance, structured finance and other commercial financings. He has represented leading financial institutions, asset managers, credit funds, private equity sponsors and corporate issuers in connection with warehouse/leverage facilities, securitizations (including recurring revenue securitization, venture debt securitization and other asset classes), CLOs, subscription lines of credit, private placements and other secured and unsecured credit facilities. Nolan has complementary experience in corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Nolan worked in business consulting, product development and management, and economics consulting, where he served in a variety of capacities that involved the interface of regulatory policy, new technologies, and business planning.
Nolan was recognized as a “Key Lawyer” in The Legal 500 US in the areas of Structured Finance: Securitization in 2023 and Finance: Commercial Lending in 2024.
PRO BONO AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS
Nolan has a longstanding commitment to serving clients in the Chicagoland area on a pro bono basis. He has served as guardian ad litem on behalf of several minors in guardianship proceedings before the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. He has represented several undocumented “Dreamers” in connection with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) proceedings. And he currently represents clients in connection with affirmative asylum proceedings pending with the Department of Homeland Security.
For several years, Nolan served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Center for Music Education, including on its Executive Committee and as Secretary.

Nolan received a B.S. in Foreign Service in 1998 from Georgetown University and a J.D., cum laude, in 2009 from Georgetown University Law Center.
