Mike works with clients involved in complex commercial litigations, including antitrust lawsuits and government enforcement actions. He has represented businesses and individuals across state and federal courts, from local litigations to national class actions.
Mike helps his clients achieve their litigation goals. He has successfully won early dismissal in antitrust and other commercial lawsuits. When a case does go to trial, Mike has achieved favorable jury verdicts, including criminal cases brought by the federal government.
He draws on his prior experience as a judicial clerk to the Honorable James G. Carr of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio to be an effective and persuasive advocate.
Mike also assists pro bono clients in prosecuting actions to vindicate their civil rights. He has defeated attempts by the government to dismiss his clients’ cases, and he served as trial counsel for a civil rights jury trial that resulted in a substantial award for his client.
Mike maintains an active pro bono practice. While in law school, he worked for the Federal Civil Rights Clinic where he represented people whose constitutional rights were violated by government actors. He continues this work today with Winston’s pro bono practice.
Mike is an executive officer on the Illinois State University Attorney’s Advisory Board. The board supports the university’s pre-law curriculum and mock trial—of which he is an alumni member.
Mike received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2019, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Illinois Law Review. He received his B.S., summa cum laude, in political science from Illinois State University in 2009.
