Kareem is a Private Investment Funds associate in the Los Angeles office. He collaborates with private investment sponsors on all aspects of fund formation and management. He also advises clients on SBIC licensing and regulatory matters.
Kareem’s primary practice focuses on private fund formation and investment management. He focuses on advising private investment sponsors on all aspects of fund formation and management. He is experienced in managing the fundraising processes for both onshore and offshore private fund sponsors with various compliance and operational requirements. Kareem has also advised clients regarding corporate governance and securities law matters. His sponsor clientele has included established and emerging private equity, venture capital, and fund-of-funds sponsors.
Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Kareem worked as a funds associate at a global law firm in New York City.
Kareem received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2022. While at USC, he was a member of USC's Student Bar Association and a co-founder of the Middle Eastern & North African Law Students' Association. He was also a participant in the school's Business Law and Real Estate Law Association.
He earned his B.A. in History, graduating cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2017.
