Sartaz focuses his practice on a wide variety of private equity transactions, with a particular emphasis on divestitures and leveraged buyouts.
Sartaz is an associate in the firm’s New York office. He focuses his practice on corporate transactions including, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, and other corporate matters.
A former M&A tax associate with both a Big Four firm and another law firm, Sartaz has experience advising Fortune 500 companies, investment banks, and private equity firms in the tax structuring and due diligence of cross-border and domestic acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations.
During law school, Sartaz worked with several federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division, the Federal Trade Commission, and the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Randolph D. Moss in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Sartaz received his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a General Managing Editor at the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and a Pro Bono Pledge Honoree. He received his B.A. from American University.
