George Lombardi Named “Litigator of the Year” by The American Lawyer

George Lombardi, chairman of Winston & Strawn’s intellectual property practice, was named a “Litigator of the Year” by The American Lawyer.

The American Lawyer highlighted his staggering win in Monsanto v. Dupont, which resulted in a $1 billion jury verdict. Mr. Lombardi’s victory for Monsanto was recognized as the number three verdict in The National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts of 2012, and earned him recognition as an “Intellectual Property MVP” for 2012 by Law360. Also featured was his victory for Teva Pharmaceuticals against Bristol-Myers Squibb, in which the judge noted his ability to extract “‘powerful admissions’ from an expert that ‘severely undercut BMS’ arguments.’”

In addition, Winston & Strawn's Intellectual Property practice was chosen as one of four finalists for The American Lawyer's 2014 IP Litigation Department of the Year.
