NextGen: From Clients to the Courthouse, In-House Insights for Junior Attorneys
October 22, 2020
Generally, junior attorneys are less likely to receive substantive client-facing opportunities or “stand-up” courtroom experiences. These opportunities not only are crucial for the career development and advancement of the next generation of lawyers, but they will also ultimately benefit clients and further the legal profession.
On October 22, Next Generation Lawyers and Berkeley Center for Law & Technology hosted an in-house panel discussion on client-facing opportunities for junior attorneys. The panelists discussed:
- Their backgrounds and journeys through the legal industry
- The opportunities they received as junior attorneys
- The current roles that junior attorneys could play when building relationships with in-house counsel, including when pitching a case, communicating with in-house counsel about a case, and arguing before the court on behalf of clients
- And much more
