Franklin focuses his practice on domestic and international tax matters related to private equity, SBIC fund formation and complex business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and debt and equity restructurings.
Franklin is an associate in the Houston office. As a member of the tax group, Franklin focuses his practice on a broad range of domestic and international tax matters. He represents funds and fund sponsors in forming and structuring private equity and SBIC funds. Franklin also regularly represents large and mid-size private equity funds and their management companies in investments in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Additionally, Franklin plans and structures other complex business transactions, including corporate mergers and acquisitions and venture capital investments.
Franklin received his B.A. in Economics, cum laude, and M.Acc. from Rice University. He earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was a Senior Staff Editor for the Tax Law Review as well as a Lawyering Teaching Assistant.
