Courtney M. Coppage

Courtney focuses her practice on complex litigation, investigations, and appeals.
She has defended clients in class action, multidistrict, and complex commercial litigation against claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices, breach of contract, fraud, and defective products, among others. Her experience ranges from internal investigations to initial pleadings, written discovery, document review, fact and expert witness preparation, critical motions, and briefing on appeal. Courtney is skilled at navigating complex areas of law and drafting clear, effective arguments.
Before joining the firm, Courtney collaborated on high-stakes civil and criminal appeals in the U.S. Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and state supreme and appellate courts as an extern for the North Carolina Office of the Solicitor General.

Education
Courtney received her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2023, where she was Executive Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and served as a student-attorney in the UNC School of Law Immigration Clinic. She graduated, with distinction, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014 with a B.A. in English and minors in Comparative Literature and Slavic and East European Cultures.
