Patrick focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and white collar, regulatory defense, and investigations. Patrick has represented clients in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.
He has experience in complex commercial disputes, internal investigations involving parallel government criminal and civil investigations, securities litigation, and appeals in state and federal courts. Prior to rejoining Winston, Patrick clerked for the Honorable Thomas L. Kirsch II of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He also clerked for the Honorable Charles R. Norgle of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Patrick maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented federal- and state-level criminal defendants, often appearing in court for his clients. In law school as part of Northwestern’s Federal Appellate Clinic, Patrick briefed and argued a securities fraud case before the Seventh Circuit and assisted in preparing a petition for certiorari to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Patrick was recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America in the area of Product Liability Litigation - Defendants.
Patrick received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2017, where he was a member of Northwestern’s National Moot Court team and performed clinical work with the Federal Appellate Clinic at the Bluhm Legal Clinic, where he wrote appellate briefs and presented oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Patrick also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Milton I. Shadur of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and served as a note and comment editor for the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy. He received his B.A. in English, cum laude, from Marquette University in 2013. Prior to law school, Patrick served as an editor for Marquette’s student newspaper before working as a reporter at a daily, state-wide newspaper covering crime and courts in Wyoming.
