Co-Chair of Winston’s Leveraged Finance Practice, Sanjay is a New York-based finance partner who leads domestic and international financing transactions for a wide range of clients particularly involving large and middle-market syndicated loans.
Sanjay advises and represents large financial institutions, hedge funds, and private equity firms as lead arrangers, senior and junior lenders, and borrowers in domestic and international financing transactions, including acquisition and leveraged buyout financings, and refinancing and recapitalization transactions. Sanjay also represents lenders in workouts, debt restructurings, and debtor-in-possession and exit financings.
His extensive loan work includes syndicated, direct lender, and club transactions, as well as first and second lien, asset-based, split-collateral, and unitranche facilities, across a variety of industries including commodities, digital assets, energy, governmental services, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, and trucking and transportation. Sanjay has worked on cross-border transactions with entities organized in Canada, the European Union, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
Sanjay is also a member of the Bank Receivership Task Force, created in March of 2023.
Sanjay was recognized as a “Key Lawyer” in the area of Commercial Lending in the 2023 edition of The Legal 500 U.S.

Sanjay earned his J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and he received his B.B.A. from Baruch College.
